tuesday update

mommees here. yuki had a royal hissy fit when we tried to give her fluids on sunday evening. we had the needle in and she was okay for about a minute and then she turned into a squiggly, wiggly mass of mad cat. we had to take the needle out and put her back into her room.

yuki has continued to eat, drink and be cranky. back to her old self! LOL she has started to get cabin fever also. she wants to get out of her room (my computer room) and explore. i wouldn't mind except i wouldn't be able to find her when it came time to give meds. so until the meds are done she will have to have supervised (on a leash) escapes. she really hates the leash. i did try to let her roam around the kitchen while the kitchen doors were shut. she was still unhappy she couldn't roam the whole house.

i called the vet and told him of her antics. he said that if she backslides any to bring her in and we will have to give her fluids at his office. i hope that doesn't happen. it is $25 each visit. *sigh* there are just like bean kids aren't they?! behave like angels in public but act like little terrors at home. guess thats why we love them.

one more thing. kimiko has started hissing at yuki. guess she still smells funny. poor little yuki.

  1. Usually when a kitty struggles during the fluids, it means they are feeling better. My Mommie helps at a cat rescue shelter, and usually the REALLY sick cats just sit there doing the fluids. Go Yuki go!

  3. Poor Yuki. I am glad to hear you are getting better and getting feisty but you do need the meds and fluid to get all better.

Mom says yeah tell me about those vet visits, each trip adds up. Mom hasn't found a place for fishy flakes yet but she is still looking. She looked up Oriental markets in the phone book and found one up in Redding. When she gets up that way she might check it out. Mom rations them out. We don't get them every night. She likes to give to us in the wet food.

Kimiko don't hiss at Yuki, give her purrs she doesn't feel very good. When she gets well you two can play together again.

  7. Poor girl! But like Daisy says, you know she's feeling better now that she's really putting up a struggle and throwing hissy fits, lol! How much longer does she have to have fluids?

  8. aw, poor Yuki. I'm glad she is feelin' better. I'm not one for being held, and I don't know where you have to give the shot, but try wrapping Yuki up in a towel, like a baby, and only leave the part your working on uncovered. If you swaddle good (but not to tight) we can't squirm or kick. Mommy & Daddy have to do that everytime I get my medicine, my ears & teeth cleaned or my paws trimmed or I go bonkers.
Vet trips do add up, that is why it is worth the struggle!

Sweet Kimiko, not hissing at Yuki, she doesn't feel well! She needs the snuggling.
