we are celebrating our 300th post this weekend! mom said we can do whatever we want. so we are going to take some long naps, eat treats and play with da' bird! mom is going to make chicken and dumplings for supper. that means we get to lick the sauce off of her fingers!

we are also celebrating a rescue! we would like you to meet mr. kitty (aka houdini).

mom rescued him from a person who trapped him and was going to dispose of him. he was in the trap outside in the cold rain (that is why he is wet in the photo). mom got him into a crate and gave him a blanket to lay on. mr. kitty is still scared even though he has been living in our den for about 3 weeks. he is eating the same dry food and stinky goodness we eat. but he only eats and drinks when he knows no one will see him. mr. kitty escaped from the huge crate mom had him in so he is living in our den. he stays hid until he thinks the coast is clear. mom wants him to know he has food, water, and shelter here. she wants to get him neutered and UTD on shots. but first she needs to get mr. kitty to trust her enough to let her touch him. once she gets him all fixed up, she wants to find him a home of his own. if he continues to stay scared of people then she wants to find him a nice home as a barn cat. a friend of hers knows someone who loves barn cats but he has coyotes that like to visit his property. mom really doesn't want to let him go there. she would prefer mr. kitty has a safer place to live.

mom here. this poor guy is still scared of people after 3 weeks in my den. we are not pushing him to be friendly. small baby steps. my daughter will watch tv in the den and we still use the den as the main entrance/exit into the backyard. the scratches on his face have healed. i think he got them trying to escape the trap he was caught in. he is a nice size and seems otherwise healthy.

  1. Oh, the poor sweetie. He's a handsome fellow, even in that pic. We hope he comes to trust you enough to at least get the vet care he needs. Purrs to him for his Highest Good, whatever that turns out to be.

Concats on your 300th post, btw!

  2. Congrats on your 300th post! And poor kitty! We hope he comes around...but you're steps!

  3. Concatulations on your 300th post!

Yes, it is a good idea to go slowly with a scared poodin. Jenny never did get over her feralness. She is only now allowing Maw to catch her because she can't hear Maw coming up on her, and she is too weak to fight back anymore. Before, she would have scratched and bit Maw a whole ton of times, and peed and pooed on her way to the crate. So just take it slow...

    Luf, Us

  4. Poor guy - how horrible that someone wanted to "dispose" of him! I'm glad your human rescued him and is looking out for him.

P.S. Conga Rats on 300 posts!

  5. Congratulations on 300 posts. We hope that kitty starts feeling safe and you can find a great forever home for him.

    Truffle and Brulee

Thanks Momm to the rescue of that poor kitteh!

  10. Congratulations on your 300th post! We are so thankful for your mom rescuing Mr. Kitty. Paws crossed that everything works out.

  11. The poor little guy. Thank goodness your mom was there... people are so cruel!

  12. Was it you that had the winning bid in the dishes we put into Criz's auction? Have you paid for them yet? Let us know if/when you get them paid and then we need your address to send them to you.

    Good luck with Mr. Kitty.

    1. hi junior, orion, and sammy,

yes, we won some dishes. they were item #21. if you send us your email address we can send you a copy of the receipt. our email is momsbusy AT earthlink DOT net.

  13. Congratulations on 300 posts. I am glad that your Mom was able to rescue Mr. Kitty. I hope that he becomes less fearful soon, but it can take a long time, depending on how long he has been on his own and if he were mistreated by humans.

  14. So glad Mr Kitty now has a safe place to hang out and recover. Purrrrring that he figures that out, eventually. All you can do is keep him safe, and try to convince him you're not going to hurt him.

  15. It never gets easy, does it?? Yuki was a beautiful girl. We have lost so many sweet cats since we all started blogging. I only have one left now and that's Cleo. Can't believe I lost a dog and three cats since I started to blog. I want to thnk you for your prayers and condolences for the passing of Casper. I appreciated it so much. Do you know how to get a hold of Rose and the Royals. I just wanted to thank her for her beautiful comment. She had a beautiful one for Yuki also. She just seems to not have any way to get a hold of her. If you can just tell her thank you so much.

I sure hope you were able to find a home for Mr. Kitty here. Don't know how any one can treat any animal cruelly. Thank again so much Shirley and I pray things are going O.K. for you and your family.
