worried wednesday

mom here.

i am worrying.

yesterday morning one of my co-workers parked his large truck just outside of our fence at work. he then went to the bed of the truck and removed a small crate. i realized it was a small animal trap and it had something in it. i got out of my vehicle and walked toward him and asked him what he was doing. he said he had to get this cat out of his front yard and it was feral. i said hold on, but he opened the trap and the cat took off. he said the cat's back side was all tore up.

i work on one of the busiest streets leading into town. next thing i know the cat shoots back across the street but gets confused by the fence. i told him to walk towards the cat to get him to go towards an opening in the fence so he could get away from the street. when that cat found the opening, he took off in a full run to get away. i could see the large raw spot on his back near (but not at) his tail. there was no skin or hair on the wound.

i wanted to get the cat from him and try to nurse it back to health. i am not sure the cat was feral. it was injured and had just been riding in the back of a loud pickup truck for about 20 minutes. i wonder if he was just scared out of his/her mind.

my heart broke knowing this kitty is alone, hurt and scared in a strange area. i kept a look out for him/her every time i went outside. this was a beautiful black cat. i believe a young adult.

please keep this kitty in your prayers.
